TOP 5 FESTIVE HOLIDAY COCKTAILS
The holidays are quickly approaching and that means that it's holiday cocktail time! We've got Hotel BPM's 5 favorite holiday cocktail recipes:
The Grasshopper Cocktail
1 ounce green crème de menthe (don’t use the white/clear variety)
1 ounce crème de cacao (use the white/clear — not the brown variety)
1 ounce heavy cream
a small candy cane as garnish (optional, but attractive)
Combine all ingredients (except garnish) in a cocktail shaker half-filled with ice. Shake vigorously for 30 seconds or so, until the drink is cold. Be sure to shake well! This helps increase the foaminess of the cream, which creates a more attractive drink.
Strain into a cocktail glass (preferably one that has been chilled).
Add a candy cane garnish if desired, and serve
White sugar crystals, preferably coarse
2 cups store-bought eggnog, chilled
1/2 cup brandy
1/2 cup amaretto liqueur
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
2 scoops vanilla ice cream
4 cinnamon stick
Dampen the rims of 4 martini glasses and then line the rims with sugar crystals. Combine eggnog, brandy, amaretto, nutmeg, and ice cream in a blender; process until smooth. Pour mixture into martini glasses and garnish each glass with a whole cinnamon stick.
Prosecco Juice Cocktail
Fill ¼ of the flute with juice (or more, if you like) – orange, peach, berry, cherry, pomegranate, passion fruit, lychee – and fill the rest of the glass with prosecco.
Garnish with fresh fruit, either on the rim or dropped into the glass.
12 oz Skyy Vodka
1 (750-mL) bottle Dry red wine
1.5 tbsp Mulling spices, wrapped in cheesecloth
1 tsp Fresh orange zest
2 tbsp Sugar
Add all the ingredients to a saucepan over medium heat. Simmer very lightly for at least 30 minutes (do not boil). Remove and discard the mulling spices. Serve in mugs, garnishing each with a few raisins and blanched almonds.
.66 oz Grand Marnier
.66 oz Cranberry juice
.66 oz Passion fruit juice or puree
2 oz Moet Champagne
Add Grand Marnier, cranberry juice, passion fruit juice or puree to a shaker and fill with ice. Shake vigorously and strain into a chilled Champagne flute. Top with Moet Champagne and garnish with an orange spiral twist.
